COVID Safety Measures for Ceremonies
January 2023
I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I continue to mask indoors at weddings, depending on the CDC guidelines and transmission rates in the area.
December 2021
I am fully vaccinated and boosted as of December 7th, 2021. I will be following all CDC recommended guidelines for my 2022 ceremonies and only booking weddings that adhere to those guidelines, as well. I am mainly performing only outdoor ceremonies at this time, though exceptions will be made for gatherings following all safety guidelines for vendors and guests.

May 2021
COVID continues to be a thing, so we will continue to be safe! I am following all CDC recommended social distancing guidelines and only booking weddings that adhere to those guidelines. I am still only performing outdoor ceremonies at this time.
I will continue to wear a mask on site and I will only remove it for the ceremony if 6 feet or more can be maintained from the couple getting married.
I am fully vaccinated, as of May 14th, 2021! Woohooo!

July 16, 2020
Your safety is my highest priority. I am following CDC recommended social distancing guidelines. This means that currently I am only performing small outdoor ceremonies where social distancing can be maintained during the ceremony. The number of guests should not exceed the current regulations in the county where the ceremony is taking place. In Multnomah County (Portland, OR) the maximum gathering is currently at 25 people.
If you or any of your guests are not feeling well on the day of the ceremony, please alert me. Likewise, if I am not feeling well on your ceremony day, I will alert you to this. I will do everything in my power to find a replacement officiant who can safely deliver your ceremony, if that is needed.
Here is what you can expect from me at your ceremony:
I will wear a mask at your wedding location and maintain six feet from guests and clients.
I may remove the mask to perform the ceremony if we are outdoors and a distance of more than six feet can be maintained between myself and clients/guests. I may wear my mask during the ceremony if these conditions cannot be met or if the client and guests prefer it.
I will sanitize my hands and the pens during the signing of the marriage certificate.
Lastly, I will not hug my clients, which is truly the hardest part of all of this for me. Post-ceremony client hugs are one of my favorite things!
Effective July 15th, it is now a requirement to wear masks outdoors (as well as indoors) when six feet cannot be maintained between individuals. For example, at a crowded trailhead, on a hiking path, or while waiting in line to enter a store. More details can be found here.
